Game 1...
In a tight pitcher's duel, Eddie Hackett outlasted Paul St. Amant for the opening game win, with the Rays pulling out the 3-2 victory in the bottom of 7th.

Game 2
Both offenses found their groove in Game 2, pounding out a combined 25 hits. After the Rays jumped out to an 8-0 lead, the Blue Jays responded with a furious comeback, punctuated with 7-run 6th inning to take a 10-8 lead.  Entering the last inning down by 2, the Rays responded with a comeback of their own, scoring 3 in the top of the frame to take an 11-10 lead.  Eddie Hackett again came through with the win, shutting down the Blue Jays to finish the game and seal the championship for the Rays
